Snowy owl Yule cross stitch pattern. A wiccan, winter solstice, pagan Christmas design featuring a white owl, snowflakes, stars, and a winter landscape. You will download a printable PDF needlepoint chart with embroidery floss color suggestions. This is designed on 14 ct. aida or 28 ct. linen for a 4" x 6" inch frame. It is 84 x 56 stitches. However, If you prefer a different fabric count just remember that your cross stitch will increase or decrease in size as your fabric squares change in size (see tip below)! Your pattern will include suggested floss colors and will be in represented in symbols over colors. Regular full cross stitches with back stitch outlines, and a few 3/4 stitches are required.

This listing is for the do-it-yourself pattern only, not the finished product.

TIP: for figuring out what hoop or frame size to use based on the preferred count of your stitching fabric:
A 4" hoop has approximately 3.75" of workable surface (due to the space claimed by the inner hoop. 22 ct fabric has 22 stitches per inch, so 3.75 x 22 = 82.5 workable stitches for this pattern.
If you want to use 14 count fabric, then 82.5 x 14= 5.89 approximate inches of work surface necessary. So round up and use a 6" embroidery hoop! You can see how this formula will work with any fabric count!

Have fun and happy stitching!
