This DIY cross stitch pattern and bookbinding project is perfect for stitchers who align with Wiccan, pagan, or Celtic traditions and want to create a personalized Book of Shadows. With this download, you will receive a detailed PDF tutorial and instructions for creating this special journal to record your rituals and spells. This magical book features the Green Man on the front and a Celtic knotwork tree on the back. The finished book measures approximately 4 3/4" x 5 3/4" inches.

Includes PDF files of the cross stitch charts and a 10-page step-by-step tutorial with pictures to show you how to mount and bind the finished cross stitch into this handmade book. You will also receive the PDF file for printing the inside cover pentagram motif. Your cross-stitch charts will include suggested floss colors and are represented in symbols over colors. Regular full cross stitches, 3/4 stitches, back stitches, and a couple of French knots are required for this project.

IMPORTANT: if you are also stitching our Brews and Potions book, please be aware that Green Man is designed to be stitched on 14 stitches per inch fabric whereas Brews and Potions is designed for 20 stitches per inch fabric. This is because I designed Brews and Potions years ago when I could stitch on smaller fabric, but by the time I designed Green Man, my eyes could only handle 14 stitches per inch. The two books will be the same size as each other only if Green Man is stitched on 14 stitches per inch, and Brews and Potions is stitched on 20 stitches per inch.

Materials necessary for this bookbinding project using 14ct aida/28ct linen include:

14 ct. cross stitch fabric

This is for the DIY patterns and tutorial only, not the finished project!
