The finished book measures approximately 4 3/4" x 5 3/4" inches.
 
The pattern is designed for 20 ct aida or 40 ct linen. 
 
***Note: the tutorial will only work correctly if stitched on 20/40 ct. fabric . *Our other project "Book of Shadows" was designed for 14/28 ct. fabric and will only be the same size of this project if stitched on 14/28 ct.***
 
Your cross-stitch charts will include suggested floss colors and will be in represented in symbols over colors. Regular full cross stitches, a few 3/4 stitches, back stitches, and French knots are required.
 
Materials necessary for this bookbinding project include:
 
-cardboard (or preferably mat board or thick chipboard)
-an at least 9” x 13” inch piece of 40 ct. linen or 
20 ct. cross stitch fabric
-embroidery floss
-16 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11” inch paper (will become 124 pg. book)
- ruler, craft knife, thick white glue (I prefer Aileen’s Tacky Glue). 
-Twine or strong, thick thread, an awl (or a hammer and nail works), thin cotton batting or  wadding
-tape
-2 sheets of card stock (to print the digital inner paper file on) or your choice of heavy-weight paper 
-a 6-inch scrap of fabric (for making the spine)
